What happens if I never release the escrow funds?

Hypothetically, if I get the car and just don't click release, does the escrow sit there forever? Is there a point where it auto-releases, and can the seller force it?

I'm not trying to stiff anyone — I just want to know how much time I actually have to inspect.

Most agreements have a defined inspection window and auto-release after it, unless you've opened a dispute. So don't go quiet — if something's wrong, raise it before the window closes. A seller can also escalate to the agent, who will follow the agreed terms.
